Yosemite sunrise at tunnel view

We drove to Tunnel View at 5am to catch a glimpse of the sunrise. It was a ~15min drive from the yosemite falls lodge, and you park right at the viewpoint (i.e. no hiking). I like my sleeps.. but this was totally worth it.

Sunrise was 5:52 that day, and we arrived at like 5:30. Lots of people have already set up shop with their tripods and fancy cameras. I was the noob who was holding my camera with my hands and fidgeting with different settings. Not bad, for an amateur camera-user (not even at the level of “photographer”).

And here’s the same spot in broad daylight from the day before. Way different, right?

Edit: just saw the weekly photo challenge “Early Bird” and immediately thought of Yosemite. Missing this place immensely.
